- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mash the bananas, and then mix in the melted butter and sugar.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, stirring to combine.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves (if using).
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until combined.
- Fold in the chopped nuts, if desired.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
