Equipment

  • 4 small glass jars or bowls
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons
  • Mixing spoon or spatula
  • Knife and cutting board

Ingredients

  • cups 320g vanilla yogurt or plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 pound 450g fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 6 ounces 168g fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup granola

Instructions

  • Prepare the Fruit: Start by washing all your fresh fruits thoroughly under cold running water.
Pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towel to remove excess moisture.
Hull the strawberries and chop them into small, bite-sized pieces to ensure even layering and easy eating.
Leave the blueberries whole, as their size is perfect for adding texture without chopping.
If you want to use other fruits like peaches, mango, or pineapple, chop them into similar small pieces for consistent layers.
  • Measure the Yogurt: Spoon the vanilla or plain Greek yogurt into a measuring cup to ensure precise portions.
Greek yogurt works well for a creamier texture and higher protein content, while regular yogurt provides a lighter, slightly sweeter option.
Stir the yogurt gently to make it smooth and uniform before layering.
If you like a touch of extra sweetness, you can mix in a teaspoon of honey or maple syrup at this stage.
  • Assemble the First Layer: Choose a clear glass, jar, or bowl to highlight the beautiful layers of your parfait.
Begin by spooning approximately ⅓ cup of yogurt into the bottom.
Spread it evenly so it forms a smooth base layer.
This foundation keeps the fruits and granola from sinking and helps the layers look visually appealing.
  • Add the First Fruit Layer: On top of the yogurt, add a few spoonfuls of the chopped strawberries and whole blueberries.
Spread them evenly across the yogurt layer to create a balanced mix of flavors and colors.
For extra sweetness or a jammy texture, you can lightly mash a small portion of the strawberries with a teaspoon of sugar or drizzle a little fruit preserve over this layer.
  • Sprinkle the First Granola Layer: Add roughly 2 tablespoons of granola on top of the fruit layer.
This adds a satisfying crunch and nutty flavor that contrasts beautifully with the creamy yogurt and juicy berries.
Make sure the granola is spread evenly to provide texture in every bite.
If you want extra crunch, you can mix in some chopped nuts, like almonds or walnuts.
  • Repeat the Layers: Repeat the layering process add another ⅓ cup of yogurt, followed by more chopped strawberries and blueberries, and then another 2 tablespoons of granola.
Repeat until your container is full, leaving a little space at the top for an optional final topping.
This repetition ensures every spoonful has a balanced mix of yogurt, fruit, and granola.
  • Top with Finishing Touches: For the final layer, finish with a small dollop of yogurt, a sprinkle of granola, and a few extra berries on top.
This makes the parfait visually appealing and ready to serve immediately.
If desired, drizzle a little honey or maple syrup over the top for added sweetness and shine.
You can also add a few chocolate chips, chia seeds, or shredded coconut for extra flavor and texture.
  • Chill Before Serving (Optional): While you can enjoy the parfait immediately, refrigerating it for 10–15 minutes allows the flavors to meld slightly and gives the granola a slight softening, which some people prefer.
For meal prep or make-ahead breakfasts, cover the parfait with a lid or plastic wrap and store it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Use a spoon to enjoy the parfait directly from the jar or transfer it into a bowl if desired.
Each bite should have a harmonious combination of creamy yogurt, sweet and tangy fruit, and crunchy granola.
This breakfast is not only satisfying and delicious but also packed with protein, fiber, and essential vitamins to keep you energized throughout the morning.

Notes

  • Fruit Size Matters: Chop larger fruits like strawberries, mango, pineapple, peaches, or apples into small pieces. Smaller pieces layer more evenly and make the parfait easier to eat. Berries like blueberries and raspberries can be added whole.
  • Sweetness Control: Adjust the sweetness by drizzling honey, maple syrup, or adding chocolate chips. Mix sweeteners directly into the yogurt for a consistent flavor or drizzle on top for a finishing touch.
  • Crunch Factor: For added texture, stir in chopped nuts, seeds, or extra granola. Toasting the granola lightly before layering enhances its nutty aroma.
  • Flavor Variations: Experiment with different fruits, yogurt flavors, or even a dollop of fruit preserves between layers to create unique combinations.
  • Prep in Advance: These parfaits can be made ahead for quick breakfasts or grab-and-go snacks. Layer and store in airtight jars in the fridge up to 24 hours.
