1teaspoonvanilla extract
1cupfresh fruitsliced (raspberries, blueberries, banana, strawberries, or your choice)
Sprinkles for toppingoptional
Instructions
Prepare the Yogurt Base: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of Greek-style plain yogurt with 2 tablespoons of honey or maple syrup (if using) and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Use a spoon or spatula to stir the mixture thoroughly until it becomes smooth and creamy. Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness if desired. This step ensures your yogurt base is flavorful and evenly sweetened for the bites.
Select and Prepare the Fruit: Choose 1 cup of fresh fruit such as blueberries, raspberries, sliced strawberries, or banana. Wash the fruit thoroughly under running water. Slice larger fruits like strawberries or bananas into small, bite-sized pieces so that each frozen yogurt bite will have a balanced portion of fruit. Pat the fruit dry with a paper towel to avoid excess moisture, which can make the bites icy.
Prepare the Freezing Tray: Line a silicone freezer tray or ice cube tray with parchment paper if desired for easier removal, or simply use a clean silicone mold. This will prevent the yogurt from sticking and make serving the bites easier. Make sure the tray is on a flat surface for even freezing.
Portion the Yogurt Mixture: Using a spoon or small cookie scoop, carefully divide the yogurt mixture into each compartment of the tray. Fill each section almost to the top, leaving a little room for the fruit and toppings. Smooth the surface of the yogurt in each compartment with the back of the spoon to create an even layer.
Add Fruit and Toppings: Gently press a few pieces of your prepared fruit on top of each yogurt portion. If desired, sprinkle a few colorful sprinkles on each bite for added fun and visual appeal. This step adds texture, flavor, and a playful touch, making the frozen bites appealing for kids and adults alike.
Freeze the Yogurt Bites: Carefully transfer the tray to the freezer, making sure it stays level. Freeze the bites for at least 4–6 hours, or overnight, until they are completely solid. Avoid moving the tray during the first hour of freezing to prevent the yogurt from spilling over the sides.
Remove and Serve: Once frozen, gently remove the yogurt bites from the tray by pushing them out from the bottom (or peeling away the silicone mold). Serve immediately on a plate or in a bowl. Because these bites melt quickly, enjoy them right after removing from the freezer for the best texture.
Storage and Reuse: If not serving immediately, store leftover frozen yogurt bites in a sealed freezer-safe bag or container for up to 3 months. Separate layers with parchment paper to prevent sticking. When ready to eat, simply take a few bites out of the freezer and enjoy straight from the bag or container.
Notes
Greek yogurt creates a creamy, protein-rich texture that’s soft and satisfying.
Whole-milk yogurt gives a richer, smoother bite; low-fat yogurt works but is firmer.
Pat fruit dry before adding to prevent ice crystals from forming.
Experiment with small mix-ins like chia seeds, finely chopped nuts, or cacao nibs for added texture.
Use silicone molds or lined trays for easy removal and neat shapes.
These bites melt quickly—serve immediately after removing from the freezer for best results.
Freezer-friendly: store in airtight containers or freezer bags for up to 3 months.
