Equipment

  • 12 small skewers
  • 1 Medium mixing bowl
  • 1 serving dish

Ingredients

  • 12 large raspberries or small strawberries
  • 12 clementine orange segments
  • 12 chunks fresh pineapple
  • 12 kiwi slices cut into fun shapes if desired
  • 12 large purple grapes
  • 1 cup vanilla yogurt
  • ¼ cup rainbow sprinkles

Instructions

  • Prepare the Fresh Fruit: Begin by washing all of the fruits thoroughly under cool running water to remove any dirt or residue.
Pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towel to prevent excess moisture from making the skewers slippery.
Peel the clementine oranges and separate them into neat, individual segments.
Slice the kiwi into even pieces, and if you’d like to make them more fun, use small cookie cutters to shape them into stars, hearts, or flowers.
Cut the pineapple into bite-sized chunks, making sure they are small enough to fit comfortably on a skewer without breaking apart.
Rinse the raspberries or strawberries gently to avoid bruising, and set all the fruit aside in separate small bowls for easy assembly.
  • Organize Your Skewers: Lay out 12 small wooden or bamboo skewers on a flat surface or large tray.
This makes it easier to assemble everything in an orderly way.
Having the skewers ready ahead of time also prevents the fruit from sitting out too long once cut, keeping them fresh and juicy until served.
  • Thread the Fruits in Order: Starting with a raspberry or small strawberry, gently slide it onto the pointed end of the skewer and push it toward the handle side, leaving just a little space at the bottom for holding.
Next, add one clementine segment, followed by a chunk of pineapple.
Continue by adding a slice of kiwi, then finish with a grape at the very top.
This order creates a beautiful rainbow effect, but feel free to adjust the sequence if you prefer a different color pattern.
Take care not to press the fruit too tightly together; leaving small gaps allows each piece to stay intact and look appealing.
Repeat this process with the remaining skewers until all 12 are filled.
  • Prepare the Yogurt Dip: Spoon the vanilla yogurt into a medium-sized serving bowl, smoothing the top with the back of the spoon for a neat presentation.
Sprinkle the rainbow sprinkles evenly across the surface of the yogurt.
This adds a cheerful touch of color and makes the dip especially appealing for children or party settings.
If you’d like, you can set aside a few extra sprinkles in a small dish so guests can add more on their own.
  • Arrange for Serving: Place the completed fruit kabobs on a large serving platter in a fan shape or neat rows for an eye-catching display.
Set the bowl of yogurt dip in the center or slightly to the side, ensuring it’s easy for everyone to reach.
If you’re preparing these for a party, consider lining the platter with fresh lettuce leaves or parchment paper for a decorative touch.
  • Serve and Enjoy Immediately: Serve the kabobs right away while the fruit is fresh, vibrant, and juicy.
Encourage dipping the fruit skewers into the yogurt for a creamy, slightly sweet contrast to the natural fruit flavors.
These kabobs are best enjoyed immediately after assembly, but they can also be prepared a few hours in advance and stored in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Choose ripe but firm fruits so they hold their shape on the skewers.
  • Use wooden or bamboo skewers to keep things safe and kid-friendly.
  • A cookie cutter can turn kiwi or pineapple into fun shapes.
  • Greek yogurt can be swapped for regular yogurt if you want extra protein.
  • Rainbow sprinkles add a playful touch, but you can also use granola or crushed nuts for a healthier crunch.
